Position: Validation Microbiologist

Your Responsibilities include:

  • The Validation Microbiologist will report to the Director of Microbiology and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the microbiology laboratory in MedPharma. 
  • Responsible for method validation, method transfer, method verification, method development and experimental design and liaising with customers on same. 
  • Troubleshooting with analysts to problem solve and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Lead microbiology analysts for method development and validation of new products for microbiological testing.
  • Initiate and /or implement changes to controlled documents. Prepare or review protocols and validation reports.
  • Participate in regulatory and customer audits. 
  • Evaluate lab practices for compliance and operational excellence improvement. 
  • Provide technical guidance to the microbiological team and project stakeholders.
  • Represent the department/organisation on various occasions.
  • Interact with outside resources.  
  • Compliance with ISO 17025, INAB requirements and CLS internal quality and technical procedures.
  • Assisting the Quality Manager and deputy in maintaining the quality of tests carried out in the microbiology laboratory, results obtained and all relating procedures, protocols and records

Requirements, Qualifications & Criteria

  • 3rd Level Science Qualification 
  • 3-5 years’ experience within GMP Microbiology laboratory preferably or Validations
  • Self-motivation whilst also being an effective team player
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Capable of building strong relationships within a commercial operation and have an appreciation of business imperatives
  • Can demonstrate an ability to critically review analytical data, excellent attention to detail is a must
  • A professional, pro-active approach with influencing skills as well as an ability to work efficiently under pressure.
