This is a senior appointment to join a dynamic and growing leadership team. People Management/ Responsibilities
- Business Development Managers, Operations Team Leaders and HR/Admin Assistants and CLS outsourced employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive the Department P&L. Co-ordinate, consolidate and drive financial processes; review/challenge/validate commercial models vs market data for monthly, quarterly and annual financial forecasts.
- Hold overall accountability for the department’s commercial operations strategy and lead commercial operations.
- Identify, analyse and implement business development opportunities for the department.
- Strengthen existing relationships with key customers and continually identify new opportunities to better meet customer’s needs.
- Co-ordinate new service development and enhance operational processes for introduction of new service offerings into the Division.
- Support CLS’ strategic commercial plans and implement the objectives and goals.
- Foster integrated partnership across all operations and commercial teams, building strong cooperation, spirit, and interaction.
- Facilitate actions to resolve conflicts in priorities and actions with team members.
- Coach, develop & assess the Divisions team and Team Leaders’ performance against set KPIs.
- Execute performance management and conduct succession planning in line with CLS’s practises.
- Work with other Department Directors and teams within same target industry sector to align on strategy, collaborating on successful innovations that are scalable and can have an impact on multiple markets.
- Understanding of technical knowledge required to deliver laboratory solutions for CLS and clients.
- Design and implement change strategies in order for business improvement through the use of change methodologies and functional processes
- Plan, analyse and interpret business information using quantitative and qualitative methods, for impact analysis and business readiness.
- Direct operational leaders to create, align, manage recruitment, engagement, support of total laboratory solutions through appropriate operational leadership structure and KPI measurement.
- Evaluate and measure the success of change management activities to determine any additional requirements whilst tracking and reporting issues.
- Champion and promote the benefits of change management and be responsible for ensuring the adherence to change management processes.
- Contribute to the development of a robust culture through role modelling CLS values and the behaviours which drive this culture.
Qualifications – Essential
- Educated to Business or Science degree level/higher or relevant/equivalent.
- 10 years relevant industry experience, 3-5 of which must be in senior commercial role (sales/ operational management) with successful track record of managing P&L.
- Outstanding leadership skills & strategic capability to operate at senior management level.
- Proven track record of successful leadership, management, and coaching teams (incl. multi-disciplinary and in-field teams) and individuals and driving high levels of performance management.
- Proven commercial acumen together with excellent negotiating and networking skills.
- Experience of B2B relationship management and ideally technical service or commercial expertise in the supply of outsourced teams and solutions
- Proven experience of developing strategic planning to meet organisational goals for growth.
Qualifications – Desirable
- Knowledge of microbiology, chemical and laboratory testing.
- Operational leadership experience in a Divisional / Regional capacity
- Cross functional experience in brand supporting disciplines recommended.
- Understanding of strategic people management.
