Deputy Quality Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Quality Manager to join the Environmental Chemistry Department. The ideal candidate will have a solid chemistry background, familiarity with ISO quality systems, strong technical ability along with strong experience with instrumentation.

Location: Ros Muc, Co. Galway

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that adequate resources are available in the laboratory
  • Ensuring all internal verifications and external calibrations are performed as required.
  • Performing quality audits, scheduling proficiency testing and internal audits.
  • Authorisation of amendments to the manuals and document control.
  • Assuming responsibility for quality control in the laboratories including validation work, management and control of QC data and AQC data.
  • Coordination of scheduled PT’s, performing trend analysis, reporting and reviewing performance in proficiency testing.
  • Maintaining training files and all documentation associated with the laboratories.
  • Leading and overseeing all developmental method validation work in the laboratories.
  • Assisting the Quality Manager in preparation for and participation in INAB, ISO and customer audits.
  • Assisting the Quality Manager in maintaining the quality of tests carried out in the laboratories, results obtained and all relating procedures, protocols and records.
  • Compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and INAB requirements and CLS internal quality and technical procedures.
  • The DQM in environmental chemistry is a signatory for environmental analysis, checking/validation of environmental results and reports.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • 2-3 years instrumentation experience.
  • Technical Report Writing experience.
  • Experience in quality analysis/control.
  • Experience working with LIMS.
