Next up for our In the Spotlight series is a senior member of our quality team, Sharon Deeney Curran.

Find out more about Sharon’s role below:

Q: Tell us what a typical workday looks like for you?

After a relaxing and scenic drive through Maam Cross to our CLS Rosmuc facility (I’m reminded every day what a beautiful part of the country we work in!), I review my calendar for the day.

This lets me know my immediate commitments, like any meeting follow up calls and which Non Conformances previously written which require review, this would mainly be for the end of the effectiveness period of a CA/PA.  I can also see what internal audits are due to be allocated and finished, and what external proficiencies we will be processing for the coming week.

I then work on unfinished NC’s, investigations, customer technical queries, and review documents and risk assessments that are due. In addition, I’ll progress specific project work such as evaluating new equipment to make laboratory activities more efficient or help the quality team in an investigation.

Q: What’s been your CLS highlight since joining the company?

Being part of the CLS team that attained the ISO 15189 Medical Testing accreditation. It was a new area for us and an accreditation that we worked hard to achieve!

Q: Share a surprising fact about yourself?

I spent some of my childhood living on a small island called Okinawa located off the south of Japan and it was where I started school.

Q: What three things you can’t live without?

Love in my life, my garden and hiking boots.
