CLS has had the pleasure to participate in Business in the Community Ireland’s World of Work programme over the last few months.
As part of the programme, Evelyn O’Toole, Founder and CEO of CLS, had a wonderful time giving a Communications Workshop at a local school. Students learned about different forms of communication, specific skills to hone, and how to share their own story from someone who has cultivated storytelling and communication skills as an extremely important part of her day-to-day in business.
Stephanie McCann and Paul O’Griofa then attended a final session for the year, where students shared their findings from a sustainability project. Our CLS team experienced a very warm welcome at the school and an excellent presentation from the students. The students had done in-depth historical and data-based research on the history of the plastic bag, as well as that of plastic razors. Some impactful information was shared and the team presentation was executed wonderfully with full participation of the class ranging from a talented musical welcome committee, to agenda and IT management, to several confident speakers showcasing their takeaways from the previous Communications Workshop.
With Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Language Week) in full swing, it has also been a fantastic opportunity to connect and speak Irish at the Gaelscoil (Irish-speaking school) next door to our Connemara facilities in Ros Muc.
Many thanks to Business in the Community Ireland (specifically Ann Dillon for all of your support), all of the teachers and faculty members, and the students for a rewarding few months. We hope the students all enjoyed the time spent together as much as we have. It has been a pleasure working with such a bright and engaged group, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this class!
