Educational Awards

CLS thrives on its teams abilities and skill sets so we truly understand the vast importance of supporting our next generation to advance their opportunities in STEM or any career path or journey they choose to flourish in.

As a team of scientists, we are interested in progressing students circumstances to advance their interests in exploring the world of science, learning about the variety of jobs in the sector and for graduates to advance their skills for entering the workplace.

Our giving back educational awards programme engages in a number of initiatives covering third level award initiatives and local school engagement covering insights into the work we do, exploring potential career paths and how to prepare for the next step once school is finished.

GMIT CLS Student Excellence in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science Student Award

Gairm Scoil Na BPiarsach Partnership

Since 2018 the CLS team have been working with the local secondary school in Ros Muc – Gairm Scoil Na BPiarsach – supporting students across a range of initiatives with the guidance of their Principle Anna Ni Dhomhnaill.

Coordinating with Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI), as part of their education initiative The Schools’ Business Partnership, CLS has successfully completed the World of Work programme with Gairm Scoil Na BPiarsach. This programme is focused on introducing students to the world of work at a younger age to progress their interests.

As a company, our volunteers are committed to supporting the students as they progress, and are eager to see them excel on their future journeys. The team at CLS have shared their experiences, expertise and skills, investing in the future of every student that has taken part.

Student participation has been very good, with the Day in the Life session cited as one of the most enjoyable, in addition to the soft skills session (communication and presentation skills). Each session to date has helped the students to build their confidence while learning more about their neighbouring business and the world of science!

The CLS-Colaiste na bPiarsach partnership has introduced 45 students to date to the BITCI programme.
